Forest Playgroup™ classes are mixed-age. This range creates a family learning dynamic, commonly observed as the sibling effect.
Meaningful, intentional teaching nourishes all domains of development: cognitive, social-emotional, and sensorimotor. A simple curriculum, direct experience with nature, music and group singing & nurturing and inviting tactile play create the perfect playgroup!
Little ones learn and are scaffolded to the next level of learning and skill-building through a high-quality creative curriculum, that is rich literacy practice, and a predictable rhythm. Through a gentle, play-based class, gross/fine motor skills, sensory integration, and social skills are nutured. The course of development unfolds easily within a natural and gentle structure.

For 17 years, Betsy Edelberg, “Miss Betsy”, has offered enriching immersive family learning programming for babies, children, and adults.
The foremost goal of Miss Betsy’s Playgroup Los Angeles is to provide little ones with a warm and encouraging welcome to their first classroom. Miss Betsy believes little ones need a home-like nurturing learning environment for unique qualities and abilities to grow and flourish.
Session fees vary depending on location, class/series length, and class content. The cost per-class typically begins around $45 per class. When there is space in a group, flexible, drop-in, single classes are available.
All session fees and single class fees are non-refundable, non-transferable, and paid prior to attending. Classes may be postponed and a date added to the end of the session in the event of inclement weather or other adverse events.
