Forest Playgroup
Playgroup LA’s Forest Playgroups are outdoor classes for kids in Sierra Madre and the surrounding area. Little ones and their parents or caregivers gather in a woodland area for a delightful weekly circle time in nature.
Forest Playgroup classes provide a wholesome, engaging, and nurturing structure for early learners with simple songs, nature walks, and family art projects. Invaluable foundational learning emerges through the self-discovery that comes with hands-on, meaningful work outside among new friends.
Waldorf Early Childhood Education and other whole-child learning theories and philosophies, all of which are of profound developmental value and remind of simpler times, form the basis for Playgroup LA curricula.
All classes are designed to be developmentally appropriate for early childhood.

Host a Playgroup Class
Q. What does it mean to host an Outdoor Playgroup LA Class?
A: Hosting a Playgroup LA class means that you organize and invite families to an outdoor class at your home, school, or a child-friendly nature area! A class can be a single day workshop or a series of classes. Although Playgroup LA classes are typically parent-child classes for babies through age six, they can be uniquely tailored for any age group up to adults.
Acorns & Oaks at the Arboretum
Acorns & Oaks is an outdoor parent-child program in the stunning landscape of the LA Arboretum, peacocks and all! Babies, toddlers, and young children 5 years and younger may attend with one caregiver. Circle time is under the trees where families join together for singing, storytelling and occasional crafting. There will be gentle hikes through the diverse gardens and woodlands.
