As a parent-child teacher, I am doubly blessed–I get to be in the company of little ones, so new to the world, and be a part of the profound journey of love and learning.
There are three guiding principles that inspire my classes:
Playgroups are an outdoor classroom.
The children are the curriculum.
You (Parent) are your child’s first teacher.
These ideas permeate the play-based, developmentally-appropriate curriculum that meets the needs of the children and families who are there. It enriches our time together.
Parent-child classes occur during a most precious, magical time, which also happens to go by in a blink.
I honor and value my time with families that come to Mommy and Me. It is a chance to slow down.
Parents grow and adapt, they have humor about the ups and downs, and confidence in their choices. Playgroups inevitably become warm family groups.
